A border province and official Frontier Area, Ha Giang lies in the remote far northern region of the country. To visit this province is to journey back in time and encounter some of Vietnam’s most rugged and grand landscapes. Ha Giang is best experienced as a road trip on two wheels, soaking up the majesty of the landscape and the atmosphere of the remote towns and minority villages.
Night 1: Transportation from Hanoi to Ha Giang by sleeper bus
19:30 – 20:00: Our tourguide will pick you up from your hotel or address in the Old Quarter.
04:04: Arriving Ha Giang, get free hostel to sleep over till 6:00
Day 1: Ha Giang – Bac Sum pass – Heaven Gate – Nam Dam village & Lung Tam valley – Handicraft village – Quan Ba – Yen Minh, 90km drive
Get an early breakfast in hostel before hitting the road. As you head north on the QL4C, the landscape quickly transforms into a limestone mountain range, covered with lush jungle.
Heading to Tam Sơn town, we cross Bac Sum pass and go up the Heaven Gate to see the beauty of twin mountains and the whole view of Tam Son town. We continue ride to view point to see the Twin Hill, and visit a clay house village Nam Dam 100% of Dao ethnic minority. Walk around the village, we will learn more about local culture and the architecture of their house build by clay.
Having lunch here with local food and get cook by local family.
Afternoon, we heading to Yen Minh town. On the way to Yen Minh we will see the most spectacular landscape and some secret villages. We stop at the loop top of the road to see an amazing valley.
Overnight at homestay in Yen Minh town.
Day 2: Yen Minh – Tham Ma Road – Pao House – Lung Cu Flag Pole – Dong Van Town, 100km drive
After dilicious breakfast, we take an hour rider to get to Tham Ma Road with 9 steps road, where we stop for amazing pictures. Continue the trip to Pao’s house with over hundreds of years the landowner of the area.
Driving to Lung Cu Flag Pole, the most important point to see the border area of Vietnam and China territory.
Having lunch at local restaurant in Lo Lo Chai village.
Afternoon, riding to Ma Pi Leng pass to see deepest valley, which is the most beautiful and spectacular view of mountains of Vietnam.
Stopping at panorama view to take a cup of coffee and enjoy the view of Nho Que river.
Late afternoon, we arrive in Meo Vac for stay over night at the complex of Hmong house architecture.
Day 3: Dong Van Town – Du Gia Village, 90km drive
Get an early breakfast, tourguide will lead you to many different kind of views as: lake for fishing; rice terraced fields; hiking the village of Dao and Tay ethnic minority people; etc.
Today is combination of driving and hiking to take great photos.
Late afternoon, we will be at local family in Du Gia village, we stay at the homestay and spend time to know more about culture, custom of people who lived here from hundred years ago.
Day 4: Du Gia – Duong Thuong Valley Road – Khe Mang Road – Bac Me – Ha Giang, 75km drive
Today we take an easy going down hill to come back Ha Giang city. On the way the guide can arrange to take you to see a very famous and outstanding village where you can see spectacular landscape and see the juggle area and from far away can see beautiful waterfall and we ride through the valley with full of terrace rice paddies field.
You can take an afternoon bus or a night bus to get to Ha Noi on the same day.
Afternoon limosine bus: 16:00 Ha giang – 23:00 Hanoi
Night sleeping bus: 20:00 Ha Giang – 03:00 Hanoi
